Company Founded

International Paper formed through consolidation of 17 pulp and paper mills in the northeastern United States, becoming the largest paper company in America with annual production capacity of 1,500 tons.

Research Laboratory Established

Opened one of the industry's first R&D facilities in Mobile, Alabama, pioneering innovations in kraft paper strength and corrugated box design that set industry standards still used today.
